A Career Rooted in Service
From Parks and Libraries to Public Schools: A Path Shaped by Purpose
Hi, I’m Deanna Musurlian — a communications professional with over a decade of experience serving local government through creative strategy, inclusive messaging, and public engagement.
I currently serve as the Superintendent of Marketing at the Deerfield Park District, where I lead district-wide communications, branding, and outreach. My work has included guiding major website redesigns, launching community-wide campaigns, and developing accessible communications for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Before parks and recreation, my career began in libraries and media — first in library makerspaces, then as a digital designer for morning news at ABC7, and later as Director of Innovation Services at a public library. In every role, I’ve brought a passion for creative problem-solving, strategic clarity, and public service.
Now, I’m excited to bring my experience to the field of education — to support students, families, and staff through thoughtful, community-centered communications.
Outside of work, I’m a fitness enthusiast and lifelong learner with a deep love for the outdoors. I’m currently on a mission to visit every U.S. national park and find that nature fuels both my creativity and my resilience.
