A Career Rooted in Public Service

From Parks and Libraries to Local Government: A Commitment to Community

Hi, I’m Deanna Musurlian — a communications and marketing professional with over a decade of experience supporting public agencies through strategic storytelling, inclusive messaging, and community engagement.

I currently serve as Superintendent of Marketing at the Deerfield Park District, where I oversee district-wide communications, branding, and outreach initiatives. My work has included leading large-scale website redesigns, launching public-facing campaigns, and developing accessible communications that reflect the needs of diverse audiences.

My path to public service began in libraries and media — from building community makerspaces to designing digital graphics for ABC7 news, to leading innovation services at a public library. At every step, I’ve combined creativity and strategy to help public institutions connect with the people they serve.

I’m passionate about creating communications that are clear, equitable, and people-focused — whether for residents, staff, or stakeholders. I bring a collaborative spirit, a strong design sensibility, and a deep belief in the power of local government to strengthen communities.

Outside of work, I’m a lifelong learner and outdoor enthusiast on a mission to visit every U.S. national park. Nature keeps me grounded and sparks the creativity I bring to my work every day.
